The City of La Porte is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE). The Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for supervising the lifeguard operation of the beach area.
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supervises lifeguard staff and is responsible for seeing that the beach area is staffed during the hours of operation.
- Provides a lifeguard schedule to the Park and Recreation for the summer season.
- Oversees lifeguard in-service training.
- Provides the Park and Recreation Department with payroll reports.
- Evaluates lifeguard staff and recruits lifeguards as needed.
- Maintains beach records in regards to supplies, accident and vandalism reports and daily beach reports.
- Acts as a liaison making recommendations to the Park and Recreation Department.
- Supervisory responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Training is required under the standards set forth for Professional Lifeguards by The American Red Cross.
This position is seasonal.
