Obtaining a Report

Citizens, insurance companies, and attorneys may examine the crash reports at any time.
Crash reports may be purchased online for $12. Copies of crash reports will be furnished to all citizens, insurance companies, or attorneys who request a copy and do not wish to purchase them online for a $12 fee.
Only Records Division personnel will distribute copies of crash reports.

Setting Fees

A law enforcement agency has the authority to set fees for copies of crash reports under Indiana Code (IC) 9-29-11-1. Any person requesting that a copy of a crash report be faxed to them must have an account with the La Porte Police Department or pay the applicable fee before the crash report will be faxed to them.
