LARGE VENUES

Cummings Lodge

W.A. Cummings Lodge sits on the shores of beautiful Stone Lake in Soldiers Memorial Park. The lodge, which opened in 1968, has been renovated in recent years with a new roof, deck and interior upgrades. The facility is available year-round for any type of small gathering, whether it is a business meeting, family reunion or graduation party. Tables and chairs are provided and kitchen amenities available. Rental fees and security deposit required.

Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater

The Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater was dedicated in 1976 and named for the former mayor. The facility hosts a variety of programs during the warm-weather months, including the Arts in the Park Summer Concert Series. The series of concerts runs from June through August on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, featuring performances by the La Porte City Band as well as an eclectic mix of music by individuals and groups from across the nation. The amphitheater also welcomes weekend festivals every summer, such as Rock the Park, the La Porte County Blues Festival and Fox Park Music Festival.

Civic Auditorium

Since its dedication on March 19, 1930, the La Porte Civic Auditorium has hosted thousands of regional and community events. The La Porte Civic Auditorium was a gift to the City of La Porte from a local philanthropist – Maurice Fox, of the Fox Woolen Mills, in honor of his parents. In keeping with the historical integrity of this beautiful building, renovations to the Civic Auditorium were completed in 1999 and continues to take care of your needs, no matter the size, in the giving spirit of which it was built. More Information View Map

Kayak Lockers 

The initial agreement to lease one canoe/kayak space will be for three years, $500 per year. If paid in full upfront, the cost is $1,350 for three years.

Preference will be given to La Porte residents. Rental agreements can be completed at the Park Office.
